Quick answer. If you are an Amazon seller or brand owner, you can create either a coupon through the Coupons dashboard or a promotion claim code through Manage Promotions in Seller Central. Coupons can be clipped or applied by shoppers, while claim codes support percentage off and BOGO promotions. Shoppers looking for offers instead should use the promo codes page. [1] [2]

Coupon or promo code: choose the right tool
Amazon treats coupons and promotion claim codes as separate seller tools. A coupon can give shoppers a percentage off or a set dollar amount off one product or a group of products, while promotion claim codes are used for percentage off or buy one, get one free promotions. [1] [2]

How to create an Amazon coupon in Seller Central
The coupon workflow starts under Advertising in Seller Central. Amazon allows sellers to attach up to 200 ASINs to one coupon, and the offer has to be submitted for review before it becomes active. [1]
Once a coupon has been created, you can return to the Coupons dashboard to edit it or deactivate it. [1]
- Open Coupons In Seller Central, hover over Advertising in the main menu and select Coupons.
- Start a new coupon If this is your first coupon, select Create your first coupon from the information page. Otherwise, select Create a new coupon. [1]
- Choose the products Select a product or search by ASIN, then follow Amazon’s prompts. You can add up to 200 ASINs to one coupon.
- Set the offer Choose the coupon details shown in Seller Central, including the products and discount you want to offer, while staying within Amazon’s eligibility requirements.
- Submit it for review Submit the coupon to Amazon for review before activation. Afterward, manage its status from the Coupons dashboard. [1]
How to create a promotion claim code
Promotion claim codes are created through Manage Promotions rather than the Coupons dashboard. Amazon supports percentage off and buy one, get one free promotions, and sellers can create a claim code for either type. [2]
Single use codes are unique to individual customers. For example, creating 60 single use codes gives you 60 separate codes. A group code is one shared code for multiple customers, although you can limit it to one use per customer. [2]
A group claim code is required if you want to share the promotion with Amazon Influencers and Associates or display it on the product detail page. Sellers can also distribute codes through their own social channels and emails. [2]
- Open Manage Promotions Hover over Advertising in the Seller Central menu and select Manage Promotions.
- Choose the promotion Select either percentage off or buy one get one free, then select Create.
- Set the claim code Follow Amazon’s prompts. For percentage off promotions, you can choose Influencer and Associate sharing in the first step and select a single use or group code in the third step. [2]
- Submit and monitor it Submit the promotion for review. Use the Manage Your Promotions tab afterward to check its status, tracking ID, dates and number of orders. [2]
Set the discount carefully before you launch
Amazon recommends giving coupons enough time to be discovered, with a suggested duration of two to three months. All coupons expire after 90 days. It also suggests planning promotions ahead of shopping periods such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday rather than setting them up at the last moment. [1]
The bigger risk is unintended discount stacking. Amazon warns that putting a coupon on a product that already has an active discount can create an extreme combined discount, so check the combined price in Seller Central before launching. [1]
For example, a $40.00 item with a 15 percent coupon gives the shopper $6.00 off, bringing the price to $34.00 before other charges. If that product already has a 10 percent price discount active, do not simply treat the offer as 25 percent off $40.00. Check the actual combined price before making the promotion live.
Amazon also suggests using a Money Off coupon for more expensive items because the dollar saving can be easier for customers to understand, while still setting a discount that leaves the offer profitable for the seller. [1]
What shoppers see and what can limit the offer
Coupons can appear on product detail pages, in search results, on the Amazon Deals page and on products customers have already placed in their carts. Sellers decide how many times a customer may use a coupon, and some coupon variations are tied to programs such as Prime Day or Subscribe and Save. [1]
Promotion claim codes can carry their own terms. If a promotion does not provide separate terms, Amazon’s default terms can limit it per customer and account, prevent combination with other offers and restrict physical goods to eligible items in a single order shipped at the same speed to one address. Codes are also not transferable or allowed to be resold. [3]

Submit an active offer to Today Coupon List
Today Coupon List also accepts submissions from sellers, brand owners, authorized resellers and agencies working for a seller. The offer must be a real, active Amazon US promo code or clip coupon, and standard listings through our Seller Center are free.
Every submitted offer is reviewed by hand. It needs clear start and end dates, and larger discounts of 20 percent or more are preferred. The discount also has to be measured against a price the product actually sold at rather than an artificial reference price.
Offers that exchange a discount or gift for a review are not accepted. Submission does not come with a promised listing date or promised sales. Paid featured slots are coming soon and will always be labeled Sponsored.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a Professional selling plan to create an Amazon coupon?
Yes. Amazon says coupons require a Professional selling plan, an overall seller rating of at least 3.5 stars and products that meet its coupon eligibility requirements. Amazon also charges a redemption cost when a coupon is used. [1]
How many products can I add to one Amazon coupon?
Amazon says you can add up to 200 ASINs to a coupon. You select the products or search by ASIN while creating the coupon in Seller Central, then submit the finished coupon for review. [1]
How long can an Amazon coupon run?
Amazon recommends running a coupon for two to three months so customers have time to find it. All coupons expire after 90 days, so the offer cannot run indefinitely. [1]
What is the difference between a single use and group promo code?
A single use code is unique to one customer, while a group code is shared among customers who receive it. Amazon allows sellers to limit a group code to one use per customer. Group codes are also required for Influencer and Associate sharing or product page display. [2]
Can an Amazon promo code stack with a coupon?
No. Amazon’s seller guide says promo codes do not apply to coupons, Lightning Deals, Best Deals or price discounts. Coupons and claim codes are separate promotion tools, so plan each offer without assuming they will combine. [2]
Can I edit an Amazon coupon after creating it?
Amazon says sellers can edit and deactivate coupons from the Coupons dashboard. The coupon must first be submitted for review before it can be activated. [1]
